This is one small incident, that i had to be a part of in the last weekend. I had an appointment with a dentist for a small scaling process and reached the hospital at 11 am.
The scene at the waiting hall. I was surrounded by a few interesting people. One was a old man in his late sixties, a little girl in her early teens, the girl's mother and a couple in their fifties.
All of a sudden a noise 'Nahi Nahi mujhe nahi karwani hai....mujhe jaane deejiye ..... please, mera dant teeek hain......please uncle, pleaseee.......' all look at each other in the face. The next voice you hear is a voice of a concerned doctor," Nahi beta kuch nahi hoga..... bas do minute ka kaam hai'.
Little Girl: Nahi mujhe woh needle nahi dalna hai. Mujhe jaane deejiye please.
Doctor: OK, abhi needle nahi use karronga....ok, abhi chilana nahi.
Doctor to one of his helper's, in kannada " Hold her hands and feet and allow her not to shake". All of a sudden you hear a loud noise again," Uncle mujhe jaane deejiye please, Paapa mujhe kuch nahi hua hain, jaayenge yahan se please paapa, pleasee'.
Its dad's turn to console the little darling. He starts of discussin in a very considerate manner telling her 'Beta tum ice creams nahi kha paogi, choclates bhi band ho jaayega, dekhlo tumhara marzi'.
Dad is helping the doctor now. The scene outside was getting a little difficult too to handle. People around were looking at each other's face and controlling themselves. In between this I notice a lady seated a little behind all the others and holding her hands tight and reciting small prayers. Yes, the guess is right it is the mother of the sweetheart inside. The mother was very restless and that's it; come what may she would never give up on the little one. Thats a MOTHER for you.
Others in the room: the mother and daughter outside, the mother slyly looks at her daughter; sitting to her right and gives a smile; "My dear, your near.... its your turn for all the mischief you do" kind of a look, although it was just meant to be a teaser.
In enters another patient accompanied by her son. The son was tall and slim and had a moustache that was extended and cut short before growing into a French Beard. The guy was standing as at the doorstep, as there were no seats left .
Now one more squeel and guess what the little girl has bitten the hand of the lady doctor in the room. The girl's father now loses patience and asks her, 'Kya kar rahe ho....' and you can listen to the cries of the girl. Now the incident gets a little funny, not because the girl is creating so much trouble, but for the next few words that she utters. "Paapa kabhi trouble nahi karungi paapa, kuch nahi poochungi, aap jaise bolenge waise hi karoongi paapa.... please paapa mujhe le jaao". Dad starts to console "Beta 2 minute aankh bandh karlo, kuch nahi hoga" and finally the tooth is uprooted.
Up goes a roar in the doctor's room and everyone tries to console and a cotton bud is stuffed into the place where the tooth was uprooted. The girl starts to cry again and again the doctor tries to keep the girl quiet," Abhi ho gaya, aur kuch nahi, rona mat beta". The girl continues to cry and doctor to the girl's father " Let her cry nothing will happen".
The guy who came with his mom, couldnt stop himself from laughing and controls with a lot of difficulty and just walks out of the room.
Doctor goes on to make his bill, while the dad is still inside and the girl jumps out of the consultation room; as if she's getting out of a dragon's den. Now, the scene to imagine is not very difficult; but there is small twist in the script. The girl sees her mother and as usual starts to cry. But, mom who was all this while praying and tensed doesn't try to console or hug her. She baldly looks at her and tells," Uncle phir se andar bulayenge rone par". I couldn't control my laughter in the next scene, the little girl is staring away at her mom. In her mind, you my mother; no little concern after all that you have heard sitting here; as she wears her sandals.
Now, dad comes out and tells," Aunty ko sorry bolo". The girl in her sweet little tone, "Sorry Aunty". This cute little girl, was in a nice blackcurrent ice cream colored tees and a blue jean; a sweet innocvent face. Listening to all that she confessed in front of the dentist, she's not that very silent at home'.
Anyway, it was a incident very funny for all the others outside; for what the little girl was confessing. All of us felt bad for the pain she had to under go. Never the less, if you are a parent with a child in their 5 - 10's then a nice idea to keep their mischief at check.
Hats- Off to the doctor's. It is indeed very difficult to handle kids and even more as they are so very sweet. It takes a lot to complete your work, in such circumstances.
